Transmission Audio Ultimate speakers

We didn't think anything would top Goldmund's $190,000 Telos 5000 amplifier, but we should have known better. Bloated excess knows no bounds, so coming in at a cool $1,000,000 per side, we've got Transmission Audio's Ultimate speakers. Each channel consists of six, 7-foot high panels (one supertweeter ribbon, two tweeter/midrange ribbons, one 24x8-inch woofer, and two 10x15-inch subwoofer); taken together, a stereo pair of the Ultimates will eat up a modest 37-foot swath of your living room airplane hangar. Even people with more money than sense like convenience, though, so the Ultimate takes a page from the HTIB crowd and bundles in six 500-Watt dual-mono amplifiers and a preamp. At these prices, you'd think Transmission Audio could afford some bandwidth, but the company website has been stripped of photos at the moment, so hit the read link for more eye candy.

HP HDX 16 most suitable for the gamer or office worker now

HP HDX 16 review, price, specs

HP HDX 16 reviews :

HP HDX 16 review, price, specs
Performance

We use Primate Labs Geekbench for benchmarking and the HDX 16 scored 3179 overall. Just to give you a frame of reference, the last-generation MacBook Pro with the same processor scored a 3671 on Geekbench. The complete breakdown can be found in the gallery.

Because of the fancy graphics card from nVidia I used 3DMark03 to see what sort of score we’d get out of it. The GeForce 9600M GT managed to score a 12,847. I played a few minutes of Sega’s Iron Man and it was pretty smooth.

Start up takes approximately 66 seconds while shutting down is about 40 seconds.

HP HDX 16 review, price, specs
Battery Life

This where the HDX 16 underperforms and it’s something that should weigh heavily on your decision making process. Off the charger, the HDX 16 gets roughly 58 minutes during Blu-ray playback. For our “real world” test, I cruised the web for about three minutes, literally, and watched 26 minutes worth of Chuck on Hulu, which amounted to one hour and 27 minutes off of the remaining battery time under HP’s “balanced” power plan.

You’d expect more out of the 6 cell battery compared to others in the market, and we suspect the HD screen is juicing it for all its worth.

Hardware

• Dimensions - 14.9×10.0×1.70 inches and a whopping 7.06 lbs. It’s not portable and hurts my back.
• Speakers – Altec Lansing handles the audio on the HDX 16 and the entire speaker system is laid out across the top section of the bottom panel. They’re certainly loud, but start to crackle when maxed out. However, you can adjust bass and treble with the touch controls above the keyboard. Located on the bottom of the laptop near the power connector is an HP Triple Bass Reflex Subwoofer that you really wouldn’t know was there unless you flipped the laptop over.
• Controls – located just above the keyboard are touch controls for wireless, bass/treble, volume, media playback and MediaSmart. They’re a bit finicky and you’ll need a bit of finesse and patience.
• Ports – located along the left side are the following ports: VGA, expansion port 3 connector, RJ-45, HDMI, eSATA/USB, USB, 1394 FireWire and an ExpressCard/54 slot. Along on the front are the following: 5-in-1 memory card reader (SD, MS/Pro, MMC, xD), IR and a mic/dual headphone port. Located on the right hand side of the laptop is the power connector, Kensington lock slot, USB, optical drive, TV antenna and the fourth USB port.
• Keyboard – Like other HP entertainment notebooks, the HDX 16 comes with a full-size keyboard with numpad. The keys have a nice finish to them and are very grippy.
• Track pad – The main issue with the track pad is it causes a lot of friction, so you’ll need to boost the speed of the cursor to actually get something done.

Screen

HP’s 16-inch HD screen is brilliant, but it’s far too glossy and I spent more time primping my hair than watching Chuck. It handles Blu-ray playback just fine with brilliant colors and sharp lines.

Conclusion

As a multimedia machine, the HDX 16 performs admirably, but the lackluster battery life and size make us long for something leaner and meaner. It can also get quite loud during graphics intensive processes, like, watching videos or playing games. But as a stationary machine (ie: plugged in) with a Blu-ray drive and HD screen it’s more than capable of keeping a multimedia junkie happy.

HP HDX 16 specifications :

• Intel C2D T9600 2.8GHz
• nVidia GeForce 9600M GT w/ 512MB DDR2 dedicated memory
• 16-inch HD HP Ultra BrightView Infinity Display (1920×1080)
• 320GB 5400RPM HDD
• 4GB of DDR2 SDRAM
• Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100 network connection and Bluetooth
• Blu-ray ROM w/ SuperMulti DVD+/-R/RW Double Layer
• 6 cell lithium-ion battery
• HP Webcam
• Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit

Samsung highnote is a music phone that extraordinary

Price:$99 with 2-year contract after savings mail-in rebate

samsung highnote
samsung highnote 2

Samsung Highnote reviews:

The Samsung Highnote is a good music phone with access to Sprint’s Music store that sells songs for $.99 each. The loud speakers are great for music playback either on the road or at your desk (assuming you won’t derange others around you). The audio is a bit tinny through the built-in speakers, wired headset and via Bluetooth stereo headset. The Samsung Highnote comes with a 3.5mm stereo headset that works well with the phone, and we tested Samsung’s own SBH-500 Bluetooth stereo headset with the Highnote and it sounded better than the phone’s speakers and better than the wired headset. Volume is loud via the wired headset but you can really pump up volume via the Bluetooth headset. The Highnote can store music on microSD cards and it comes with a 1GB card to get you started. We also tested SDHC high capacity cards which worked well with the phone.

Thanks to the EV-DO, the Samsung Highnote supports Sprint TV for streaming video, movie rentals and more. But the lower resolution screen (176 x 220 pixels as opposed to QVGA on other high end feature phones) and the video/movie playback performance hobble the experience. Video playback is very blocky and slow to refresh, and audio isn’t always in sync with video. Sprint has tons of channels and we like their streaming TV service, just not on the Highnote. Movies via Sprint TV movie rental services usually play better on most phones, and it does look better on the Samsung Highnote as well. Still it doesn’t look as good as on the LG Lotus.

Gaming is fun however, and there are a wide selection of games suited to the Highnote’s screen resolution and processor capabilities. The loud speakers are also great for gaming; music and sound effects sound great. Most games don’t support the touch control jog wheel, but that’s not a problem since the d-pad also responds to clicking.

Like the Samsung Rant and the LG Lotus, the Samsung Highnote has a built-in 2 megapixel camera. But still photos don’t look as good as those taken by the Rant or the Lotus. Outdoor shots are overexposed with whiteout, though colors look mostly balanced. Indoor shots have some white haze around subjects that reduces clarity and color saturation. Perhaps a software update might improve image quality.

The camera offers 4 resolutions, 3 quality levels and settings for white balance, color and more. The camera can also take video with audio. Video quality is actually not bad with smooth motion and good color saturation. Audio is also in sync with video.

LTE 4G cell phones will come shortly

Samsung and LG will be launching LTE (Long term evolution) phone with the latest capabilities 4g wireless technology. LTE is the technology standard of 4g which is now being developed.

My quotation of LTE from wiki:
LTE (Long Term Evolution) is the next major step in mobile radio communications, and will be introduced in 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 8.
The aim of this 3GPP project is to improve the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) mobile phone standard and provide an enhanced user experience and simplified technology for next generation mobile broadband. Researchers and development engineers worldwide - representing more than 60 operators, vendors and research institutes - are participating in the joint LTE radio access standardization effort.
While 3GPP Release 8 has yet to be ratified as a standard, much of the standard will be oriented around 4g upgrading to UMTS mobile communications technology, and an all-IP flat architecture platforms.

Surgeon will replaced with surgical's robot! Amazing!

Ability in medical technology, balanced with the running progress of communication technology. Imagine 1 to 2 years from now. Surgeon will be replaced with a surgical robot. A doctor is only playing in front of a touch screen and not touch their patients. Perhaps the computer will be more difficult to understand in the future.

Next few articles that I find interesting about the surgeon today.

Oh boy, from the looks of that picture, the only perquisites for using the updated da Vinci Si surgical system are video game skills, a preference for interacting with the physical world on a high-def display, and an abnormal interest in robots. Sound like anyone you know? Intuitive Surgical's latest robotic system features two separate HD optical channels that the manufacturer claims will give "highly accurate depth perception" when merged. The surgeon console features touchpad control of the video, audio, and system settings while providing "precise, dexterous control" over an extensive array of surgical tools held by the robotic flanges. Perfect for all your minimally invasive, WebMD-inspired home surgery needs, when not performing transplants at County. Check the video after the break; 'amazing' is an understatement.

Gold Bullion Wireless Mouse only looks like a million bucks

Price :#34.68

Review :

Look, we fully understand the dilemma. You picked up a Pure*Gold PC late last year, and you've been tirelessly searching for a suitable mouse to use with it ever since. At long, long last, said device is finally upon us. Too comical for Crapgadget and too outlandish to be taken seriously, the Gold Bullion Wireless Mouse operates on practically any USB-enabled machine and is coated with precisely zero atoms of gold film. In other words, around 98 percent of the $34.68 asking price is for the looks alone, but you know it's worth it.

Wall-E case mod is chock full of adorableness, win

Just look into those cute, bubbly eyes and tell us that you'd still rather keep your plain-jane tower if offered this instead. We know, you can't. While we've seen a number of Wall-E mods over the months, we've never seen anything close to this in terms of sheer incredibleness. So far as we can tell, this robotic PC even opens up his own optical drive, and he can also send out love letters to one "Eeeevvvaaaaa" without human intervention. A thing of beauty, no?

Card mobile phone have a size such as credit card

Real Phone Card Corporation has developed a cell phone with the size of a credit card called CARD Mobile Phone. It can fit in your wallet like a typical credit card and is the world’s thinnest and lightest mobile phone, designed for prominent branding and personalization. The CARD Mobile Phone is 0.58mm thin, which is less than a quarter inch and weighs about 1.3 ounces.

This smart slim phone comes with embedded voice recognition software that eliminates the need for a traditional full keypad. This gives the credit card size handset a large flat surface for brand identification, logos and personalized images. The phone’s software can be trained for the user’s voice and used in any language.

It was displayed in the Emerging Technology Showcase at CTIA in Las Vegas March 31 - April 3. Real Phone expects the CARD Mobile Phone to be in production this summer and maybe first introduced in India and possibly the United States.

Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic - Until now still be idol

Price : $440

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic review :

This product is not a new product that is displayed by Nokia. But a product that has a design like a model. Products aimed at young people become more alive with a myriad of features. Some features are 3.2inch 16M-color TFT LCD 16:9 touchscreen display (360x640 pixels) with the Symbian OS S60 5th edition. 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with dual LED flash. In addition, there are many more that will spoil us. But the most important in Nokia 5800 is the audio quality is very good and wonderful. But there is no ivory that is not cracked. Some of the lack of 3rd party software is difficult to search, touchscreen sensitivity less good, not smart dialing, poor image quality and no GPS geotagging. Keyfeature see below.
